Chip and Joanna Gaines Are Coming Back to TV — With Their Very Own Network!

Good news for any of you starting to go through withdrawal ever since the last episode of Fixer Upper aired, seven months ago: Chip and Joanna Gaines are going to be returning to television.

You may have caught their recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when Joanna teased that Chip “let the cat out of the bag about something big.” The host asked the couple if they’d ever consider coming back to television and Chip got real.

“We signed a non-disclosure and it said, quote unquote, you can tell your mother but that’s it. So Mom, I just wanted to make a quick announcement: We are coming back to television.”

The couple also made an official announcement on Instagram: “Chip and Jo had the best time being guests on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon! @chipgaines got a little excited and spilled the beans on a potential project that we are working on with @discoveryinctv. This isn’t a done deal quite yet but we are all really excited about what we’ve got in mind: our own cable network! We want to create a space on television unlike anything that exists today. A lifestyle channel aimed at inspiring and looking at the world in a new way. Stay tuned …”

The details remain unclear (apparently they’re still a work in progress), but reps have confirmed that it’s happening. (Things could even start up in as little as six months!) We know one thing is for sure: We’re hoping for lots and lots of kitchen makeovers.
