From the moment I started remixing ramen noodles into gourmet meals and spending hours watching cooking shows as a puny six-year-old, I knew I found a deep passion for food. While I realized — after taking on a two-year high school internship in an award-winning kitchen — that a…read more

If you visit Nashville, you can’t miss out on the city’s famous hot chicken. Whether you go for wings, tenders, or any other cut of the bird, this delicacy-of-sorts is crispy and coated in a spicy cayenne-based sauce that packs a fiery kick. It’s such a beloved local flavor that Cheetos even created a chip inspired by this iconic dish.

A few years ago, Cheetos Crunchy introduced a Nashville Hot flavor, but sadly Frito-Lay discontinued it shortly after. Now, with the new year underway, the brand has decided to bring them back. So if you head to your local grocery or convenience store, you’ll find this iconic snack on the shelves.

Many shoppers are spotting the new Nashville Hot Cheetos Crunchy chips at Dollar General. An 8.5-ounce bag costs $4.95.

Although cayenne pepper — the key spice in traditional Nashville Hot chicken — doesn’t appear on the ingredient list of these Nashville Hot Cheetos Crunchy chips, you’ll spot other classic seasonings and flavorings like onion powder, paprika, buttermilk, chicken fat, and garlic powder.

Instagram creator @snackolator, who shares the latest snack releases, posted about the Nashville Hot Cheetos Crunchy chips hitting the shelves at Dollar General. People quickly flooded the comments with their thoughts. One person recalled, “I remember these from 2020/2021 … they’re not bad,” while another said, “I just bought these yesterday, and they are excellent and should be a permanent flavor.”

Not everyone was thrilled about the return of these Cheetos. One person commented, “They’re okay, but way too salty,” while another user expressed disappointment, saying, “Bring back Sweet Carolina Reaper.”

Whether you’re excited about the return of Nashville Hot Cheetos Crunchy chips or hoping the brand will bring back one of your other favorites, if you’re even a little curious about trying them, you’ll want to grab a bag soon. It’s only been a few weeks since their release, and people are already selling them on eBay for 15 times the original price.
