Yay, we made it to Friday! Let’s cheers to the weekend with something light, fruity, and fizzy. This pineapple-lime wine spritzer is just the ticket.

This recipe calls for a whole bottle of Moscato, which is a sweet wine. To help balance that sweetness and complement the wine’s fruity notes, we also mix in some tart lime and pineapple juice. Lemon-lime soda takes that citrus flavor even further and provides some bubbles to lighten the whole thing up.

If you’re planning on hosting happy hour or brunch this weekend, this is the perfect drink to serve, as it has major make-ahead potential. All you have to do is place some fresh pineapple chunks and lime slices into a large pitcher; pour in the wine, pineapple juice, and lime juice; and let the flavors chill for two to four hours. When you’re ready to serve, just pour the mixture into glasses filled with ice and top with the lemon-lime soda.

The author does note that if you’re not a fan of sweet Moscato wine, you can sub in another crisp white wine — I bet a dry Riesling (still on the sweet side) or Sauvignon Blanc would be delicious!
