Welcome to Feel Good Five, where we ask people to share the stuff that helps them feel their best.

Singer Carly Pearce has a bunch of feel-good bops on the Hot Country charts that will make you want to dance in PJs and a face mask like no one is watching (or is that just me?). So obviously when we got the chance to chat with Carly about life out on the road, we had to find out her Feel Good Five.

If you ask Carly, she’s been on a journey with self-care and ultimately she just wants her fans to know that she’s real. Here’s what she told us.

“I think what I do for a living is really hard to not compare yourself to others. We’re on stage 24/7 and everyone has an opinion. Social media standards have also created a lot of lies. I want people to see that I struggle. The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve realized that caring and loving your body means being thankful for the body that you have.”

So without any further ado, here’s how Carly Pearce, singer of Closer to You and Hide the Wine, takes care of herself in the realest way.

1. Oatmeal whenever, wherever — even on a tour bus.

I pretty much am a creature of habit. I start my day off with old-fashioned Quaker Oats and just cook it on the stove. I have a stove on my bus, so I make it even when we’re running down the road at 60 miles per hour. I put a little bit of almond milk or berries and a banana in it and it keeps me energized.

2. A special addition to her morning cup of Joe.

I always have Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides in my coffee. I’m always on the go, there’s so much moving around and working out, and this stuff keeps my joints healthy. It’s good for your hair, skin, and nails. I usually brew my own hot coffee and then pour in two scoops and stir, stir stir. It’s super clumpy if you don’t stir. Then I put cream in my coffee.

3. A fresh face nighttime routine.

I make sure to wash my face nightly and always moisturize. I wear a lot of makeup and am in a lot of climates which can be hard on my skin. I love Neutrogena products and see an aesthetician when I’m home in Nashville. I also believe in facials. You only get one face!

4. Ice cream (kind of).

One of my favorite things in life is Halo Top. It doesn’t even matter what flavor. I love ice cream so much so I had to figure out something that I could have that would satisfy that craving without all the calories. The closest thing to that (that I’ve found) is Halo Top. You can eat the whole pint. I really love the Cinnamon Roll, Peanut Butter Cup, and regular Vanilla flavors.

5. Two-Buck Chuck or the high-dollar good stuff.

I love Cabernets — they’re my favorite. I like full-bodied red wines. There’s a line in my song “Hide the Wine” that goes “Two-Buck Chuck or the high-dollar good stuff” so I’ll give you one of each. If you’re looking for a really good wine that you can buy in a grocery store that’s super good, I love Conundrum. Then my splurge Cabernet? I mean, you just can’t go wrong with Silver Oak.
