Score Carla Hall’s Ingenious Small-Space Storage Solution for as Little as $52

If you read about our recent visit with Carla Hall and found yourself drooling over her super-organized New York City kitchen, you weren’t alone. Perhaps the most impressive feature, though, was the towering eight-tier cookware stand that she uses to display her collection of pots and pans (the second image as you scroll). It’s a colorful array of enameled Dutch ovens, copper pots, and cast iron frying pans, some nested and others stacked. When it comes to enameled cast iron, if you happen to own any of this iconic cookware, you know that its impressive weight (and, depending on the volume, its size) makes it a challenge to move and store.

Cookware stands — sometimes called pot stands — allow you to display your large cookware and items like mixing bowls, freeing up valuable pantry or cabinet space. The open design makes it easy to see and grip items, and if you’ve amassed a nice collection of brightly colored enameled cast iron cookware, they make an impressive aesthetic accent. But what we love most is the vertical design that takes up minimal floor space, making them ideal for tiny kitchen spaces.

We did a little research and found the one in Carla’s kitchen, which is made by a company called Enclume. Inspired by French ironwork, these pot stands are hand-forged in Washington state and will run you between $185 and $600, depending on the number of tiers, material, and retailer.

Of course, you could splurge on Enclume, but for much less you can get the same look by picking up this six-tier model from Old Dutch. Even at full price (between $107 and $116), this stand is a steal. But you can save even further if you pick up the Graphite or Oiled Bronze color, which are both on sale for $52 and $61, respectively.
