Summer is starting to wind down and cookout season is coming to a close, but who says you can’t get your grill on all year long? With a good grill pan, you can re-create all the barbecue flavors you love right in your kitchen, even when it’s snowing outside. But with so many grill pans on the market, it can be tricky to choose one. Relax, we found it for you: Caraway’s Grill Pan. We had the opportunity to try it for ourselves, but we actually went one step further and let a professional pitmaster put it to the test. And the verdict? “It’s actually better than a grill,” says our reviewer, Carl, who manages a barbecue catering company in Massachusetts. Read on to find out why the Caraway Grill Pan is one of the best there is.

What Is the Caraway Grill Pan?

Made by one of our favorite cookware companies, the Caraway Grill Pan is a nonstick pan you can use to prep everything from proteins to veggies to panini. Its slick ceramic coating helps to retain heat, so you can cook on a low to medium setting, and since food won’t stick to the raised grill lines, you can use less oil in the pan. The nonstick surface also makes cleanup a breeze — just wash the pan in soapy water and give it a quick scrub with a nonabrasive sponge to keep it spotless.

The grill pan, which is compatible with all cooktop types and is oven safe up to 550°F, is available in all five of Caraway’s classic colors (Cream, Navy, Gray, Sage, Perracotta, and Marigold) and in two versions of its luxe Iconics collection (Black and White).

Why I Love the Caraway Grill Pan

Our tester, Carl, cooked everything from chicken steaks to pork chops in the Caraway Grill Pan, and the results impressed him every time. “The pan heats evenly and gives an even sear, more so than a standard grill,” he says. “You don’t have to worry about cold spots.” While the pan can’t create the signature crosshatch marks that grillers love, it does turn out meat that is consistently tender and not dry or tough. “With the pan, you can cook meat at a grill temperature without losing the juices,” Carl says. “I also like that the pan can go inside the oven to finish off thicker cuts of steak and chicken.”

Another feature he appreciates is the pan’s nonstick surface. “Food slides right out the pan, which makes cleaning it so easy,” he says. “Nothing sticks to the raised grill lines, so you just need to give it a quick wash with a sponge and soap. That’s it.”

If you’re looking for a grill pan that’ll make you feel like a pro pitmaster, take a cue from Carl: “This is an excellent pan to add to your arsenal.” And right now is the perfect time to do so because we scored an exclusive reader discount for 10% off your entire purchase — just be sure to shop using this link, and you’ll see the discount applied on your entire order.
