This year’s Budweiser ad for the Super Bowl is lighter than usual on the cute animals, but heavy on the big emotions. The commercial was released on January 31, less than a week before the Big Game. Have you watched it yet?

The minute-long commercial called “Born the Hard Way,” features Eberhard Anheuser and Adolphus Busch, two immigrants who came to America in search of a better life and ended up creating an iconic American beverage. This story hits especially close to home given President Donald Trump’s recent executive order to temporarily ban citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United Staes.

Just watch the shipwrecks, the jingoistic jeers that are less than welcoming to the newcomers, and the eventual meeting of the two beer moguls in the making and try not to cry. It’s a little food for thought that is more timely than advertisers could have anticipated at the commercial’s filming.
