Q: I often cook up a package of bacon and store it in my fridge. I’ll use it later for quiches, in scrambled eggs, peanut butter and bacon sandwiches, BLTs. I usually use it to take into work for breakfast or lunch.

How long do you think the cooked bacon will stay good in the fridge?

How do you feel about using pre-cooked bacon? Do you think there are any health risks?

Editor: You can safely keep your cooked bacon in the fridge for up to a week. I think this is a great make-ahead idea to make your breakfasts and lunches a little easier! Re-heated bacon might not taste as perfectly crispy as when it’s fresh from the skillet, but in things like breakfast sandwiches and salads, I think it would be great.

Readers, do you ever cook bacon ahead? Anything to add?
