Calphalon Recalls 2 Million Knives Due to Being More Dangerous Than Usual
Your knives may be more dangerous than usual if you own Calphalon brand products. The company announced a recall of 2 million knives in the United States and 7,100 knives in Canada. The recall took place after more than 3,000 cases of knives breaking and 27 reports of consumers suffering from finger and hand lacerations, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The knives — retailed at stores like Kohl’s, Macy’s, Amazon, and J.C. Penney — impacted by the recall were sold between October 2008 and December 2016. Calphalon is calling on consumers to check the date codes on the surface of the units. No date? Odds are it is a recalled device.
Those with recalled units will have to register for a recall kit online or call 800-809-7267 during the traditional Monday to Friday work week. The devices impacted by the recall range from a $25 knife to a $300 set.
