Calling All Jack O’ Lanterns

Ready to show off your knife skills and your Halloween spirit? Pumpkins aren’t just for pies.

We want to see how you carve your pumpkins. Between now and Monday, please take digital photos of your pumpkins and send them in to the Kitchen.

On Halloween, we’ll post some of our favorite pumpkin pics here and we’ll show off all the pictures we get in a virtual pumpkin patch over on Flickr.

When Flickr-ing your photos, please tag them with apartmenttherapy and atpumpkins so we’ll be sure to find them. Also comment on how you carved your pumpkin: what kind of tools did you use, where did you buy your pumpkin, did you eat the seeds.

If you’re having problems using Flickr, please post a comment here and we’ll give you a hand.

Last night, I was at a Halloween Party at the Martha Stewart Living offices in Chelsea. The pumpkin in this picture was carved by guests at the party. The Martha crowd was pretty inspired — using leather tools to emboss the pumpkins, punching holes in pumpkins for little white Christmas lights. What’s your plan?

By the way, this isn’t a contest — no winners, no losers, no tricks, just treats. It’s a fun way to see how you’re celebrating this spooky, silly Halloween night.
