Budweiser Rings in the Holidays with Limited-Edition Packaging

Starbucks gets all the glory when it comes to its red holiday cups, but there’s another beverage in town that also deserves a little more seasonal recognition. To ring in the 140th year of selling to the American public during the holiday season, Anheuser-Busch’s Budweiser has unveiled brand new, limited edition seasonal packaging — just in time for the start of 2016 Christmas festivities.

Inspired by the tradition of decorating the 12 U.S. Budweiser breweries for the holidays, the lager company has decked out their twist-off beer bottles in a tonal Christmas red, making this a must-have collector’s item for the Budweiser superfan in your life.

Designed in part with the New York-based design agency Jones Knowles Ritche, this year’s seasonal packaging continues Budweiser’s history of being a leader in beer design and packaging innovation. In 2013 Budweiser introduced its “World’s Most Unique Beer Can,” a bow tie-shaped beer can that mimicked the company’s iconic bowtie logo. Earlier this year the company launched its “Twist-Off” beer bottles in the U.K., making it the first major beer brand to bring the twist-off style beer bottle overseas.

Budweiser’s “America” campaign that was featured on beer cans and packaging during this past summer ends in November, making room for the brand new holiday packaging. While there’s no official word yet from the Budweiser camp on whether the festive packaging will become a yearly tradition, the bottles will be available throughout this year’s holiday season.
