Brunch Starter Idea: Grilled Squash and Cheese

Before starting an indulgent sweet course for brunch, such as Honey Lavendar French Toast or oat pancakes, I love to serve a small bit of grilled vegetables and cheese.

During the summer, it’s easy to grill a few seasonal vegetables such as squash or peppers and to brush a little oil onto a slice of Haloumi cheese. Everyone will appreciate this gesture, not just the vegetarians at your table. When the weather is too cold for the bbq, I find roasting a tray of carrots or brussel sprouts equally nice. Eating in courses spaces out the meal and creates more time for conversation and relaxation.
