Maybe you’re looking for a little bit fancier way to jazz up a batch of brownies than a sprinkling of powdered sugar or the addition of everyone’s favorite Halloween candy. Look no further than these cheesecakec-marbled brownies. Sure, they look gorgeous, but they taste even better! Simply by adding a swirl of orange-scented cream cheese to your favorite brownie batter, you’re creating a Halloween-themed pan of brownies that will knock the socks off your book club friends.

First, Make the Brownie Batter

Before you can transform a pan of brownies into a Halloween treat, you’ll need to mix up the batter. Below is our recipe for homemade chewy brownies, but a good box of brownie mix works just as well (here’s our readers’ favorite brownie box mix).

And if all you want is a brownie for one, we’ve got you covered there as well.

How to Make Orange Cheesecake Swirled Brownies

Mix together one (8-ounce) block of cream cheese with 1/3 cup sugar and 1 large egg. Add the zest of one orange, plus 3 to 5 drops each of yellow and red food coloring. Beat until well-combined.

Pour 3/4 of the brownie batter into the pan and then spoon on the cream cheese mixture, followed by the remaining brownie batter. Then drag a skewer through the batter to create the marble effect. Bake as directed.
