If your social feeds look anything like mine, then you’ve noticed that bone broth is everywhere. Whether it’s someone touting its rich, hearty flavor as the perfect meal base, or swearing by it to meet their daily protein goals, bone broth has become inescapable. As a big soup fan myself, I’m no stranger to bone broth. In fact, it’s something that’s been a staple in my pantry (as well as a go-to comfort snack) for years. So you can imagine my delight a few years ago when I first discovered Brodo’s “sipping” broth.

Intended as a warm, delicious, and nutritious alternative to a morning cup of Joe, James Beard Award-winning chef Marco Canora began selling Brodo broth from the tiny takeout window of Hearth, his popular restaurant in New York City’s East Village back in 2014. Since then, he has had a hit on his hands, as well as a fan in yours truly. That being said, I don’t get out to the city as much as I used to. Luckily, that’s not a problem because you can now get Brodo Bone Broth delivered right to your doorstep. The best part? It tastes just as good at home as it does when you’re strolling through the city.

What Is Brodo Broth?

Bone broth has been around for centuries, so what makes Brodo special? Well, that comes down to how it’s made. With Brodo, no shortcuts are taken. The base is made from a mixture of beef and poultry bones, all sourced from ethically raised animals free of antibiotics, hormones, and exposure to things like GMOs, chemical fertilizers, and pesticides.

The bones are then slowly simmered with additional meaty cuts and organic vegetables for up to 24 hours in a 1:1 ratio of water to ingredient for broth that’s rich both in flavor and nutrients. On top of that, Brodo also stays away from concentrates, extracts, artificial flavorings, and preservatives. With Brodo, you’re getting quality, homemade bone broth, every time. Best of all, if you’re someone looking for vegan or vegetarian options, the brand also makes a boneless version made from wild seaweed, mushrooms, and organic vegetables!

The variety pack also comes with a Chicken Bone Broth flavor, but alas, I had enjoyed it earlier that morning.

Why I Love Brodo Broth

As I mentioned above, I’ve been a fan of Brodo since it first hit the scene. Back then, I had only ever tried their original chicken broth, so trying this variety pack was a totally new experience for me, as it exposed me to five additional flavors. But would it hit the same as it did when I picked it up on a chilly February morning in the city back in 2018?

Once I unboxed the broth (it comes in a pack of six), I was eager to give one of the new flavors a try. I opted for “Tuscan Sun,” which features rosemary and lemon, and let me tell you — I couldn’t have started with a better flavor. It was rich, it was comforting, and, most importantly, it was delicious. Since then, I’ve gone through multiple boxes of the stuff and have got to say every flavor is a hit, with “Tuscan Sun” and “Tom Yum” (a mixture of coconut, lime, and curry) being my favorites.

As delicious as these broths are, what I love the most is how they make me feel. Whether I’m sipping one first thing on a cold morning to warm up or adding one as a base to a soup (the “Hearth” flavor is incredible for that), every time I enjoy Brodo I’m satisfied, satiated, and, well, happy. There’s also a peace of mind knowing that I’m truly ingesting something made with care that’s good for me. I can confidently say that this broth has found a forever place in my pantry.

So, ready to give Brodo a try yourself? You can pick up the Brodo Broth Variety Pack today for just $33. You can also curate your own box (prices vary, but you do get 20% off when you subscribe!) Whether you opt to sip it on a cold day or to add it to your next meal, something tells me this might just become a pantry staple for you, too.
