The “Delicious” Olive Oil I’m Gifting Everyone On My List This Year (It’s That Good!)
When it comes to gifting, I love getting family and friends kitchen essentials that I personally use and love. This way, I can share my experiences with it and why it’d be a good gift for them — it just feels more personal and thoughtful.
One kitchen essential that I particularly love gifting is fancy-ish olive oil. It’s a go-to ingredient for home cooks and bakers so I know it’ll be put to good use, and the nice stuff is a luxury that they might not indulge in. Plus, a food gift can be enjoyed by the whole family, and the holidays are all about spreading love and joy anyway.
I especially love Brightland’s olive oil, so I knew its first-ever collaboration with home decor brand MacKenzie-Childs would quickly become my new favorite go-to gift this year.
The limited-edition Holiday Splendor Gift Set just launched today and includes Brightland’s best-selling Alive and Awake olive oils — now featuring the MacKenzie-Childs collab logo — along with two gold spouts. Everything is housed in a pretty blue box — also emblazoned with the logo — so it’s ready for gifting.
One thing to note is that there is an additional cardboard box that houses the gift box, so it won’t get dinged in transit — or potentially spoil the surprise if you’re shipping the set to a loved one. But let’s be honest, who’s going to be upset when a gift this pretty arrives in the mail?
Brightland’s pantry essentials are beloved by many editors at The Kitchn, and the OG olive oils — Alive and Awake — are among my personal favorites. The flavors are bold, punchy, and versatile, and the bottles are so pretty that I just leave them out on the counter. Alive is great on light bites and sweets like salads, toast, and ice cream, while Awake is better for heartier fare like meat and pasta.
The Holiday Splendor Gift Set is a reimagined version of Brightland’s Duo plus the Olive Oil Spout Set, so value-wise, it’s a better deal than buying the items individually. At $87 for the set, though, it’s definitely not priced as a little luxury or stocking stuffer — this is a Gift with a capital G. Still, if you have the budget, I think it’s the perfect food gift for family you won’t see IRL this year because everyone can enjoy it, or as a thoughtful hostess gift because they can open it right then and there.
The set is a limited-edition run, so you can bet I’m adding a few more to my cart before it sells out.
