This recipe is a part of 24 Days of Holiday Cocktails. Come back every day to reveal a new festive drink and stay holly jolly all season long.

It’s that time of the year when all I want for the holidays is chocolate. Whether it’s a mug of hot chocolate topped with mini marshmallows, a batch of soft and chewy double chocolate chip cookies, or rich and chocolaty hot cocoa cupcakes with fluffy frosting, I’ll take chocolate in every form.

Chocolate cocktails are no exception (I’m looking at you, spiked Nutella hot chocolate), and this one is sure to satisfy those chocolate cravings. If you’ve ever had a frozen hot chocolate, you’re going to love this boozy version that’s big on chocolate flavor.

Why You’ll Love It

  • It’s a chocolate-lover’s dream. The combination of chocolate liqueur and powdered hot chocolate mix makes this cocktail ultra-chocolaty.
  • Festive and frosty. This frozen hot chocolate tastes just like dessert! It’s the perfect sweet drink to celebrate the holiday season.

Key Ingredients in Boozy Frozen Hot Chocolate

  • Chocolate liqueur: Use a full-bodied, rich chocolate liqueur, such as Mozart.
  • Baileys Irish cream liqueur: Lends the drink its creaminess and adds notes of chocolate and vanilla.
  • Milk: You can use whole or 2% milk.
  • Powdered hot chocolate mix: Use your favorite store-bought or homemade hot chocolate mix.

How to Make Boozy Frozen Hot Chocolate

  1. Chill the glasses. You’ll want to chill them in the freezer or refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Blend the ingredients. Add ice, chocolate liqueur, Baileys, milk, and powdered hot chocolate mix to a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Garnish and enjoy. Pour into the chilled glasses, and garnish with whipped cream and dark chocolate shavings if desired.
