The Oprah-Beloved Snack I’m Ordering for My Fourth of July Party (I Can’t Believe How Quickly It Disappears!)
Ever since I tried the curated charcuterie boards from Boarderie, I’ve been a fan. They were one of Oprah’s Favorite Things in 2023, and I can see why. They’re fully loaded with artisan cheeses, meats, crackers, and other delicious nibbles, and they’re really easy to order for a party — especially if you’re hosting. That’s why I’ll be serving one at my upcoming Fourth of July celebration.
Now, I won’t pretend that Boarderie is cheap, which is why I gravitate toward the customizable and seasonal boards that feel extra special. There’s a birthday version that you can personalize with the recipient’s age in cheese, or the one I plan on ordering today — a Fourth of July spread that includes a cheese cutout of “USA” and stars.
The smallest Fourth of July board serves two to three people, and includes 18 different cheeses (including the aforementioned white cheddar stars and “USA”), meats, dried fruit, nuts, chocolates, and olives, plus a small box of crackers and bamboo utensils. The board comes fully assembled and chilled, so all you have to do is remove the packaging and set it out on the table. In my experience, you can actually stretch the board to serve five or even six guests if you add in your own crackers and fresh fruit. The original serving size is generous and assumes that every person is eating at least one of every item on the board. But factor in all the other food I’ll have, and that’s totally fine for a party.
Price-wise, yes, Boarderie is expensive — but it’s worth it. The boards include unique cheeses and meats that you might not be able to find at your local grocery store (and even if you did, the quantities at the store are likely much more than you and your guests can eat, which means you paid for a bunch of food you’ll throw out before you can even finish eating it).
Plus, you have to factor in convenience. It takes just a few clicks to order a charcuterie board and it comes with free overnight shipping, so that’s one item off my (very long) to-do list. Speaking of, I’m putting my Boarderie order in right now and then it’s off to the local florist to grab the centerpieces — I’ve got a party to host!
