It’s easy to be obsessed with those legendary Milkbar-style birthday cake truffles, but for some cake lovers, they may not be as accessible when the craving hits. Thanks to a sweet at-home hack to make your own version, however, getting your hands on them couldn’t be any easier. The best part? You probably have everything you need right in your pantry.

Broma Bakery’s copycat Birthday Cake Truffles recipe offers everything delicious about those addictive bite-sized balls of funfetti cake. Concocted right from your own kitchen, the recipe begins with baking your favorite vanilla cake mix according to package directions. You’re going to want to underbake just a little so that the cake is extra moist when it comes out of the oven. Then, get ready to get your hands dirty, because you’re going to break up all that luscious cake mix in a big bowl before adding milk, vanilla, and almond extract.

Next, grab a cookie scoop or use your hands to make balls, much like if you were making meatballs. Now it’s time for the fun part: the coating. Dip those cake balls into white chocolate before topping with a funfetti crumb coating. Let it set and then once ready, serve. Of course, this can be adapted to be vanilla coating or a different type of chocolate. Whatever your taste buds desire, go for it. It’s your treat after all!

Not every occasion calls for an entire cake to slice, but bite-sized cake truffles are the best of both worlds — almost like a cake pop without a stick. They are incredibly fun to eat, and are sure to be a hit at any dinner party, too.
