The Village of Oak Park, Illinois has declared January 17, 2022 “Betty White Day” in honor of their favorite hometown hero. The beloved actress, who passed away on December 31, would have turned 100.

One of the highlights of the day, of course, will be the food, and the offerings will pay homage to some of her favorites. Typical of the sassy star, her choices may surprise you.

“I should follow better eating health rules,” she once admitted to PEOPLE. “But hot dogs and Red Vines and potato chips and French fries are my favorite foods.” Oh, Betty. As if we didn’t already have a gazillion reasons to love you.

Turano Bakery will be baking a “giant birthday cake” and Mickey’s Gyros and Ribs will offer a special combo featuring a hot dog, fries, and Diet Coke so you can eat like the Golden Girl herself. Other businesses in the area will be offering specials for the day, too, and there will even be a Betty White mural contest for those who want to show their love through their artistic side.

If you want to celebrate the occasion at home, you can try these air fryer hot dogs or check out the best way to grill them. You can also use your air fryer for the best French fries or crispiest potato chips. You can even make a sweet and salty snack board to enjoy while re-watching Betty rule The Mary Tyler Moore Show as The Happy Homemaker, Sue Ann Nivens.

Feel free to indulge without guilt. These treats got Betty to the age of 99, after all.
