Happy Friday! You’ve officially (almost) made it through the first full week of 2020. Did you start the decade off with a New Year’s resolution? And are you keeping it so far? Resolutions are hard, but if you’ve promised yourself that you’ll drink more water in 2020, we can help you!

The biggest things we hear from you guys (in terms of why you don’t drink enough water) are as follows: You don’t like the temperature of tap water, the water in your town tastes funny, and you just don’t think to do it until you’re super thirsty. With those excuses in mind, we’ve rounded up some of the very best water filter pitchers and dispensers. Keep one full and in your fridge at all times and you’ll take care of those first two obstacles. And then we’ve got all sorts of tips for actually remembering to drink more.

Ready? Let’s take a look at some of the best water filter pitchers out there.

The Best Water Filter Pitcher, According to Wirecutter

Pur Classic 11-Cup Pitcher, $28

The folks at Wirecutter have been testing water filters for five (!!!) years and have found this 11-Cup Pitcher (paired with either the Ultimate Lead Reduction Pitcher Replacement Filter or the Pur Pitcher Filter) to be the best for most people. They like that it’s easy to use and that the two filter options have the most extensive certifications (from the American National Standards Institute and NSF International) out of any pitcher filters they researched. These filters have been proven to remove more potential water contaminants than other competitors, and they’re reasonably priced and easy to find. The one drawback is that the filters can be slow, so you’ll just need to remember to refill the pitcher on a regular basis.

The Best Water Filter Pitcher, According to Reviewed

Brita Everyday 10-Cup Pitcher, $27

The testers at Reviewed tried 10 different pitchers and quickly noticed a pattern of Brita and Pur options rising to the top. The very top pick, the Brita Everyday 10-Cup, won for its “clean, neutral water taste and streamlined pitcher design.” Seriously, in a blind taste test, the water from this pitcher got remarks like “most clean!” In official tests, the filter removed almost all traces of chlorine, slightly reduced the amount of total dissolved solids (TDS), and had little to no effect on the pH. And the setup filters water pretty quickly compared to others. Plus, the replacement filters can often be found on sale.

The Best Water Filter Pitcher, According to Consumer Reports

Brita Stream Rapids OB55 Water Filter, $30 at Walmart

Consumer Reports does a good job explaining the different types of filter options out there (like a faucet-mounted or under-the-sink option) and offers a thorough review of filter pitchers. This Brita model won because the filter was long-lasting and effectively removed chlorine, and the pitcher had a decently quick flow rate. (The filter lasts for two months or 40 gallons, and the pitcher has an electronic indicator to remind you when it’s time.)

The Bestselling Water Filter Dispenser on Amazon

Brita Ultramax Water Dispenser, $90

Look up the bestselling pitcher water filters on Amazon and the top result is actually more of a dispenser. It holds up to 18 cups of water (which makes it great for larger families) and sits in the fridge or on the counter (it has a flip-top lid for easy refilling). It uses the standard Brita filter and comes with four right off the bat. It has more than 3,300 five-star reviews, with shoppers raving about the space-saving design, ease of use, and great-tasting resulting water.

Kitchn’s Thoughts on the Best Water Filter Pitcher

Honestly, we don’t say this that often, but any of these will be great additions to your kitchen. For a few reasons! They’re all certified and proven to do an above average job of filtering out contaminants. They’re all easy to use. And any one of them could get you drinking more water, which is really what we’re all after.
