Trader Joe’s does a lot of things right. In fact, the popular retailer has delicious freezer finds, an excellent flower selection, and fabulous baked goods. Have you tried Trader Joe’s sourdough bread?! It’s one of the only sliced breads we buy! The retailer is bursting with wonderful breads, pastries, and other baked goods that are worth the trek alone.

As 2024 comes to a close, we’re feeling especially nostalgic for all of the best grocery items we ate this year. As such, we’re taking a moment to reminisce about the best Trader Joe’s baked goods (and there were a lot of them!). From the delicately-spiced seasonal cakes to a year-round favorite, these are the three best baked goods we bought in 2024.

1. Pancake Bread, $4.49 for 15 ounces

If there’s one item that needs to be on your 2025 grocery list, it’s Trader Joe’s Pancake Bread. It tastes like the best buttermilk pancake you’ve ever had in bread form — slightly savory, a little bit sweet from the maple syrup, and totally buttery. In fact, it’s been a favorite bakery item for several years.

The loaf is soft and features a sugar crumble on top for max texture. Eat it sliced, straight from the container, or slightly toasted; there’s really no wrong way to go, because it’s always so good.

2. Salted Caramel Swirl Danish, $3.99 for 10.23 ounces

Unlike other Danishes you might spot at the grocery store, these Salted Caramel Swirl Danishes aren’t one-note — far from it! This buttery Danish pastry (baked by actual Danish bakers, as in, from Denmark) first popped up on shelves in April. It’s piped with an almond custard that has that cherry-adjacent marzipan-y finish that goes super well with the salted caramel that swirls around and around.

These swirly-twirly Danishes aren’t just a match for coffee in the morning, either; pair one with your next afternoon London Fog for a day-brightener like no other.

3. Pumpkin Spice Mini Sheet Cake, $5.49 for 18 ounces

Trader Joe’s releases a lot of products each year (475 alone this holiday season!) and one of our favorite bakery finds had to be the Pumpkin Spice Mini Sheet Cake. The grocer’s sheet cakes are as close to legendary as a Trader Joe’s item can be, so when this hit stores, we practically ran out the door to grab one and try it for ourselves. Unsurprisingly, it was DELICIOUS!

It has tons of warm flavors like cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg, and features a dreamy cream cheese frosting that strikes the perfect balance between sweet and tangy. The only problem? It’s a seasonal release, so we’ll have to wait until next fall to see it back on shelves.
