The 28 Best Recipes to Cook This February
Does your cooking motivation wane as we move into the cold, dark mid-winter days of February? It sometimes does for me. So to keep myself motivated and make my time in the kitchen more fun this month, I’m setting a cooking challenge for myself — and it would be so fun if you join in too!
This February I challenge you (and myself!) to cook one recipe that feels extra cozy and comforting (chicken noodle soup casserole, perhaps), one recipe that feels like a treat to yourself (thinking chocolate snack cake with peanut butter frosting or pasta al limone), and one recipe that will bring your slow cooker out of retirement.
The one thing that gets me most excited for Super Bowl Sunday: the snacks (nachos are my go-to!). Even if your team isn’t playing or you’re not into football, it’s easy to get behind a tray of grilled wings, homemade pigs in a blanket (they’re easier than you think), and creamy spinach dip.
When it comes to Valentine’s Day, we’ve long been of the mind that staying in and cooking (or baking!) something special at home is way more fun than going out. Embrace the day by cooking something special for yourself, your partner, a friend, or your family.
If you have some extra time on your hands this month (perhaps during the long weekend mid-month), consider cozying up in the kitchen with a project, like pan-fried chive pockets or sourdough cinnamon rolls. Or if you want to get in the Mardi Gras spirit, how about a king cake?
From Super Bowl Sunday to Valentine’s Day to Mardi Gras, plus cozy snow-day eats, there’s a huge selection of really fun and delicious things to cook and bake this month. February is a great time to hunker down in the kitchen and lean on slow-cooked braises, hearty soups, stews, and noodle dishes that are impossibly comforting and warm you from the inside out. We have all of that and lots more. Here are 28 of our favorite ideas to inspire your cooking (and baking!) all month long, because we want you to have a positively delicious month ahead.
