We strongly believe that every home cook needs a nonstick skillet. Yes, even if you have a cast iron pan. (While they can be used for similar things, sometimes, it’s hard to beat the convenient cleanup of a nonstick.) The issue is that some nonstick pans can be ridiculously expensive. Like, around $100 or so. And some can be so inexpensive that there’s no hiding their cheapness, which manifests in flaking coatings and stickiness. Which brings us to this Goldilocks Nonstick Skillet.

The Cuisinart 622-20 8-Inch Chef’s Classic Nonstick Skillet is the single bestselling nonstick skillet on all of Amazon and it has more than 1,100 five-star reviews from satisfied shoppers. (As our luck would have it, the pan is currently sold out on Amazon, but it’s in stock at Bed Bath & Beyond.) The pan has a hard-anodized exterior, which is dense, nonporous, durable, and a good conductor of heat. It features a Cool Grip handle that won’t get hot on the stove, and the whole thing can be popped into the oven (it’s oven-safe up to 500 degrees). And the shape offers a drip-free rim that can easily flip eggs and veggies with just the flick of the wrist.

What else is there to love? Let’s look at some of the five-star reviews to find out.

“This pan is a great workhorse, used virtually every day for breakfast, and sometimes lunch. It heats quickly and evenly on our electric cooktop, has excellent balance, NEVER sticks to ANYTHING, and wipes clean with a paper towel. Love the gently flared sides that allow a spatula to get under the omelets, sautés, or grilled cheeses with ease. We have its 12-inch big brother, too, and use it for almost anything needed for larger meals. Pretty tough coating, too — hard to scratch it unless you use metal utensils.”

“I love this 8-inch skillet. The non-stick properties are fantastic. One of my favorite meals to cook in it is pan fried thick pork chops. I sear them on the stove top then finish them off in the oven. Clean up is an absolute breeze. Wipe it down with a paper towel then wash it in the sink. No scrubbing and no stuck on bits.”

“I bought this to replace a ridiculously expensive pant that had begun to deteriorate. I was amazed and elated to find that this is by far a better pan than the original! It cooks more evenly, heats faster, is tough enough to withstand even metal utensils, and cleans up like a breeze. I want to replace all of my cookware with this style!”
