Once you get a fruit fly or two in your kitchen, you can expect many, many (many!) more — in a matter of days. See, they’re super quick to reproduce and they can grow from egg to adult in just over one week. And while there are plenty of DIY home remedies that call for simple things like apple cider vinegar and some plastic wrap, we totally understand that some of you might want to just order something on Amazon and move along with your days. Or maybe you want something that’s truly been formulated and designed to trap these buggers? We get it. That’s why we’ve rounded up some of the bestselling fruit fly traps on Amazon.

These products have many satisfied customers, are all easy to use, and are totally safe for the kitchen.

(Note: Our Editor-in-Chief, Faith Durand, also tested four of the most popular DIY fruit fly traps. Here are her results.)

1. BEAPCO Prefilled Fruit Fly Traps, $15 for six

This setup is pretty close to that apple cider vinegar and plastic wrap method, only it requires zero, uh, DIY-ing. Just take a trap out of the package, poke a hole at the top with a pen, and set the trap out to do the work. (Seriously, do nothing else. The Amazon listing says the trap actually works best when it’s left untouched!) Each trap lasts for 30 days and you can either recycle the plastic or refill the trap and use it again.

2. TERRO Fruit Fly Trap, $5 for two

This trap works just like the one listed above, only it’s shaped like an adorable little apple. The flies go in through the holes at the top and get stuck, unable to continue breeding and multiplying.

3. Green Gobbler Fruit Fly Killer, $12 for 32 ounces

Fact: Fruit flies may end up living INSIDE your kitchen sink drain and pipes. Weird (and kinda gross), huh? This thick drain gel — from one of our favorite names in the drain-clearing biz — is made with citronella and it clings to pipes as it goes down in order to kill fruit flies and any eggs that may be hiding out in there.

4. FlyPunch Non-Toxic Fruit Fly Trap, $8

Just flip the jar’s lid open and set the whole thing on your countertop. That’s all you have to do. Many reviewers said they were skeptical of this product at first, but found the proof to be in the pudding. Or rather, in the jar: Because they found SO many dead fruit flies inside the jar after just one night.

5. Garsum Sticky Trap, $11 for 12

This stuff is like fly paper, only for fruit flies and gnats — and it’s cuter. The yellow draws the insects in and the glue traps them. The setup is simple, too: Just peel the trap to expose the adhesive and push it into a flower pot or hang it somewhere in your kitchen. Let it sit out until it’s covered or your fruit fly problem is cured.

6. KATCHY Indoor Insect Trap, $40

For the techy set among us, this gizmo uses UV light to lure fruit flies (and gnats and mosquitos!) and then a fan sucks them down into the chamber where they get stuck on super-sticky glue boards. Reviewers say it’s beautiful, quiet, and totally effective.
