These Are the Best Frozen Meals, According to Our Readers
Frozen meals have come a long way since the microwave dinners of the ’50s. And most of it has to do with two little words: Trader Joe’s. While they’re not the only players in the game of frozen meals, they certainly seem to have captured our readers’ hearts (and tummies).
We asked you guys to tell us about your favorite frozen meals. Your answers included a lot of Trader Joe’s — and a few other name brands, too.
From Trader Joe’s
“Traders Joe’s all the way! We love the General Tso’s chicken. Plus the meatballs. And the frozen brown rice — it cooks in minutes with no pots to clean!”
“Trader Joe’s arrabiata pasta has a great spicy sauce and is ready quickly.”
“We always keep Trader Joe’s frozen gyoza for a quick weekday meal.”
“I love Trader Joe’s vegetable lasagna and pizzas, and we use the frozen raviolis a lot for the kids.”
“Trader Joe’s burritos are my husband’s go-to, but I love them, too.”
“We like the steak and ale pies from Trader Joe’s.”
From Other Brands
“My 3-year-old daughter survived on Amy’s Mac & Cheese for about three months when she was going through a particularly picky phase, so I’d be remiss to not mention. She still loves it!”
“Amy’s and Evol’s frozen burritos are kind of my jam. I don’t eat them often, but I grab a few when I know I’m going to have a hectic week coming up where I won’t have time to make real food. I’ll usually add a cut-up avocado or pre-made guac to round it out, plus a squeeze of lime and Cholula. It’s amazing.”
“We love the the Against the Grain gluten-free pizzas. They aren’t healthy but they are delish. We usually pair with a kale salad. Pizza and salad — revolutionary, I know!”
“Marie Callender’s family-size chicken pot pie is a great choice.”
“I love the Barber foods stuffed chicken breast.”
“I love all of the Beetnik organic foods for a healthy option!”
