Our team is constantly testing all sorts of amazing cookware, bakeware, appliances, gadgets, and so much more for the kitchen. And while there are a ton of great appliances out there, there is one I turn to every morning in some fashion or another. That is, of course, the coffee maker. I don’t even want to imagine my mornings without my cup of coffee, whether I’m having it iced or hot. Our team also likes their coffee and has been busy testing a number of machines this year.

From ones that are over $1,000 to ones that are less than $100 and models that brew up a good, ole cup of joe to versions that pump out cold brew, we’ve tried all sorts of coffee makers that fit a variety of price points. And now that we’re officially at the end of 2024, I’ve gone ahead and compiled a list of the very best coffee makers we’ve tested this year — and of the six you’ll find below, five are $150 or less!

This Nespresso is not only the coffee maker former barista and contributor Ian recommends, but it’s also the one that’s in our office! Its single-button display makes it super easy to use. You just pick out which Nespresso capsule you want to brew (which will determine size and what you’re drinking, of course), pop it in, and press the button. In a matter of moments, you’ll have your coffee or espresso freshly brewed and ready for you.

If you’re looking for an affordable coffee maker that can basically be like having a café in your home, then the Mr. Coffee 4-in-1 Latte Lux is for you. Commerce Assistant Editor Morgan put it to the test earlier this year and called it “a major step up” from her previous pod coffee maker. “With its ability to produce four different kinds of drinks — it also makes regular hot coffee in addition to iced — this do-it-all machine will make you feel like a barista, with zero skill needed on your part,” she wrote in her review. “Instead of pods, it uses a reusable filter, so all you need is your favorite coffee blend and your milk of choice.”

For our cold brew drinkers, you’ll definitely want to check out this under-$100 machine. Contributor Ian tried it out back in May and loved how quickly it gave him a cup of cold brew coffee. “It’s superfast, coming in at under 10 minutes for the mild brew and just under 20 minutes for the bold brew,” he wrote in his review. “My favorite part is that since it brews 40 ounces at a time (that’s the equivalent of 2.5 pints), you can just pop the carafe in the fridge for storage, and your coffee will last for up to 10 days.”

Terra Kaffe
$1195.00
was $1695.00

A celeb-loved coffee machine, the TK-02 is by far and away the most expensive on this list. But according to contributor Kiersten, who tested it herself, “This machine is the real deal," she wrote in her review. "It makes quality beverages that taste just like something you would get in a coffee shop, and it’s easy to play around with the settings. Compared to a traditional espresso machine where you have to grind and press the coffee before doing a pull, this machine makes it simple; just dump the coffee beans into the funnel at the top, and it will grind up the coffee and do all the work for you.” Plus, it’ll look super sleek on your countertop, too!

For an affordable drip coffee machine that is well-loved by both Amazon shoppers and contributor Ian, go for the Mr. Coffee Stainless Steel 10-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker. “Besides making delicious coffee, there are a ton of features I really value in the Mr. Coffee Stainless Steel 10-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker. First off, it brews a pot of coffee very quickly. I’m talking like, five minutes for a full 10-cup pot, which is awesome,” Ian wrote in his review back in March. “The next big thing for me is the carafe: Since it doesn’t sit on a hot plate, the brewed coffee doesn’t cook, which means it won’t taste burnt if you don’t have a cup right away. And, there’s a running clock that displays the time since the coffee was brewed, so you know exactly how fresh the pot is.” And better yet, this coffee maker is currently 30% off on Amazon, making it just $70.

Corkcicle
$49.95

If you’ve got some travel plans coming up — whether you’re going on a work trip or a vacay to the beach — you might want to take a page from shopping writer Nikol’s book and get the Corkcicle Palmpress for your trip. “Thanks to its compact and lightweight design, traveling with the Palmpress was a breeze,” she wrote in her review of the single-serve gadget. “As for how the coffee tasted, I’d say it was no different from the pour-over coffee I sometimes make at home using an electric kettle and glass carafe. And it certainly beat having to brew coffee on the stove!”
