The best drip coffee makers are the ones that can practically work themselves when you’re bleary-eyed and tired — and also don’t cost that much money. (Because we’d rather spend our money on quality beans or, you know, just save it!) If you agree with us on both of these points, then you’ll be excited about this list. We’ve rounded up the very best programmable coffee makers for $60 or less. This way, you can make one relatively tiny investment and have a dependable coffee maker that can have a fresh pot ready and waiting for you … whenever you’re able to stumble out of bed and into the kitchen.

1. Hamilton Beach 10-Cup Programmable Thermal Coffee Maker

This coffee maker got our vote in our recent Kitchn Essentials list for a few reasons. Mostly because of how dependable it is, morning after morning. But also because of the price, the fact that it comes with a stainless steel carafe (which keeps your coffee hotter than a glass one and is rare for coffee makers at this price point), its strength selector for brewing based on preferences, and the fact that it’s incredibly easy to program.

2. Bella Pro Series 14-Cup Coffee Maker

For the price, this Bella coffee maker has way more features than you’d expect. While it can brew up to 14 cups of coffee, it can also make just one or four cups, if that’s all you want/need. It lets you schedule brewing up to 24 hours in advance, has an automatic shutoff, allows you to interrupt the brew cycle to pour a cup without making a mess, and has a strength selector. For what it’s worth, Bella machines also get Very Good ratings from Consumer Reports when it comes to reliability.

5. Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker with FrontFill

One more pick from Hamilton Beach (the company really knows what it’s doing when it comes to high-quality, inexpensive coffee makers!), this coffee maker solves another difficult part of making coffee: the water-loading step. See, it’s got what the company calls FrontFill, so you pour the water into a reservoir that’s located at the front of the machine. This way, you don’t have to pour at awkward angles or pull the machine out just to fill it up.
