We have a complicated, love-hate relationship with Amazon's add-on items. If you're not familiar, add-on items are only available for purchase when you order more than $25 worth of items — shipped by Amazon, to the same address. They're usually lightweight and cheap and deemed "cost-prohibitive" to ship on their own (meaning, on their own, Amazon would lose money shipping the items to you). If your order doesn't total $25 and you have an add-on item in your cart, the site will automatically save the item for next time.

Don't get us wrong — we totally support making the most of a shipping situation. (Related: Alton Brown Called Out Amazon's Wasteful Packaging on Instagram.) It's just that we wish it was easier to get these little things on Amazon. Sure, sometimes you can find what you need at the dollar store, but you can't always (and then you have to walk up and down the aisles because nothing is ever where you think it'll be).
To make things easy for you, we scoured Amazon to find the add-on items that would be most useful in the kitchen. If you have an Amazon order that's $25 or more, it's worth tacking on one (or three!) of these things. Bonus: All of these things actually add up to $30, so they'd ship on their own, if you wanted!
1. Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, $4 for five pounds
For as much as we love cleaning with baking soda, it never hurts to have a big ol' bag in the pantry.
2. Ziploc Snack Bags, $3 for 40
These bags are the perfect size for a serving of pretzels, some cubes of cheese, and more. Just reuse them as much as you can in order to not be wasteful.
3. Full Circle Reusable Cellulose Sponges, $4 for three
Speaking of not being too wasteful, these cellulose sponges become more like cloths when they're wet and they can help you cut back on paper towels.
4. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Kitchen, $5 for four
One of our favorite cleaning supplies now comes in a kitchen-specific version. Use one of these to clean up grease on ceramic cookware, burnt-on messes on glass stovetops, grime on granite countertops, and more.
5. Command Cord Bundlers, $2.50 for two
While we fully support stocking up on all sorts of Command hooks, we're especially partial to these because they can help you deal with the annoying cords on your small appliances. See: This Brilliant Hack Fixes the Only Problem of Owning a Stand Mixer.
6. Sharpie Metallic Permanent Markers, $4.50 for three
If you're gonna label your pantry jars and leftovers (and you really should!), you might as well do it with a cute marker. These — in gold, silver, and bronze — are totally on trend.
7. Band-Aid Brand Adhesive Bandages, $2 for 40
Unfortunately, accidents happen in the kitchen. At least, if you always have these on hand, you'll always be prepared for little accidental slips of the knife.
8. Wilton Rainbow Nonpareils, $2 for three ounces
Because you never know when you're going to want to add some rainbow fun to something.
9. Kashi Chocolate Chip Chia Bars, $3 for 10
Keep a box of these in the pantry and you'll always have something to snack on — even during your busiest, most errand-packed days
10. Flat Toothpicks, $3 for 2,500
Okay, maybe this is one item you really only need to buy once. Even if you entertain a lot and exclusively serve little nibbles, it'll still take you a while to go through 2,500 of these toothpicks!
