I’ve been wanting to upgrade the food storage containers at home for while now. It was well past time, considering some were missing lids, and others were discolored and had been damaged with time. While our home has a lot of different types of food storage options, one style that we’ve been running low on are multi-compartment containers, especially any above two. If you’ve stored any type of food, which I’m sure you have, you know all those containers can pile up if you have to split up entrees and sides.

Bentgo has become one of my favorite brands for lunchboxes and general food storage. The brand is behind my favorite portable glass salad container and multimeal food carrier that’s come in handy on more than one occasion. When it came time to finally take the leap on replacing all the old multi-compartment containers in the Tupperware cabinet, Bentgo was my first stop — and it did not disappoint.

What Are the Bentgo Prep 3-Compartment Meal Prep Containers?

Bentgo Prep is the brand’s line of lightweight and portable meal prep containers that come in multiple sizes and colors to meet your needs. The triple-compartment tray has a four-cup capacity that’s split into a two-cup section and a pair of one-cup sections, all of which are discreetly marked directly on the container. That makes it easy to break food down into portions without any of the guesswork. The lids are also custom fit to each tray for a sturdy seal that ensures lasting freshness.

The Bento Prep containers are dishwasher-safe, freezer-safe, and microwave-safe. They can also be warmed up directly from the fridge or freezer, so you don’t have to build in time to thaw. When heating, just remember to leave a corner of the lid open for venting. (Personally, I remove the lid altogether while microwaving and use splatter guards out of habit.) Made of BPA-free materials, the three-compartment meal prep containers are available in silver, lilac, and navy blue. The full set comes with 10 lids and 10 trays to make 20 pieces total.

Why I Love the Bentgo Prep 3-Compartment Meal Prep Container

Not only does my family do a lot of entertaining, we also do a lot of cooking, which means leftovers and to-go plates abound. Bentgo’s 3-Compartment Meal Prep Containers make it so easy to store food for later, and are compact enough to toss a few into a bag to bring food home from a festive gathering. If you meal prep regularly, they’re narrow enough to line up and fill on the counter easily, and with the clear lid, you know exactly what’s inside at any given moment. I also really love that the capacity of each compartment is subtly labeled at the bottom of the container. We’ve used them to bring home food from holiday events as well as Sunday family dinners, and it’s significantly reduced the number of containers we’ve had to borrow and cart back home.

Storage-wise, these are the containers you want if you’re low on space. They’re stackable and have a sleek rectangular silhouette so there’s no pieces that oddly stick out, and the lids can rest neatly atop the trays without tipping over at the slightest movement. They nest so well that I’m considering getting another set to stack with them since they’d all be able to fit in our cabinet in a convenient single column. They’re also pretty stylish to boot.

In addition to three-compartment containers, Bentgo offers a variety of meal prep containers in different sizes including single compartment, double compartment, and snack size. You can also pick them up as a bundle to get multiple variations all in one set.
