Ben & Jerry’s Is Coming Out with Two NEW Frozen Desserts Just for Dogs

The best way to a person’s heart is through their stomach, but the second-best way just might be through their dog. It has long been said that you can tell a lot about a person from how they treat someone’s puppy, but more recently the same can be said for companies. For years, stores have kept water bowls on the sidewalk and jars of treats on the counter to show that canine companions are welcomed and loved, and Starbucks has led the competition with their famous puppuccino. And now longtime favorite Ben & Jerry’s announced that they are showing their dog devotion on a much larger scale by producing a line of desserts just for dogs. 

The two new flavors of ice cream, Pontch’s Mix and Rosie’s Batch, use a sunflower butter base to make a pup-safe frozen treat. Both take their names from dogs that hang out in the Ben & Jerry’s headquarters — which often has as many as 40 pups hanging out (does this mean we can expect 38 more flavors to come? Here’s to hoping). Pontch’s Mix, named for an affectionate Frenchie, per the company, is a peanut butter and pretzel swirl flavor, while Rosie’s Batch, named for a rescue mutt, is pumpkin and mini cookies. The flavors each come in individual four-ounce mini-cups or in four packs, and cost $2.99 and $4.99, respectively. 

In addition to the consumable dog treats, the ice cream company is also selling merch for their new line, which means that Ben & Jerry’s superfans can now get their dog a custom tie-dye rainbow leash made from recycled water bottles emblazoned with the company logo, or a stuffed ice cream cone plush toy.
