Ben Affleck and J. Lo Were Spotted Serving Customers at Dunkin’ and the Internet Is Loving It
Picture it — you pull up to your local Dunkin’ for your regular breakfast of a medium coffee and two crullers, and instead of your regular friendly cashier, you’re greeted by America’s official, number one Dunkin’ fan: Ben Affleck. And … is that J. Lo behind him at the register?
No, this is not some Bostonian’s fever dream; it’s a real thing that really happened to customers at a Medford, Massachusetts Dunkin’ location on Tuesday, January 10. The award-winning actor and the superstar singer both popped up to serve customers, camera crew on hand to film an as-yet-unannounced project. Super Bowl commercial? Good Will Hunting 2? The Donut Chronicles? Whatever it is, I may be here for it.
Affleck’s affection for the chain, which got its start in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1948, is the stuff of legend. Affleck himself grew up on the other side of Boston in Cambridge, and has been photographed holding Dunkin’ products so often that it’s become a meme. And back in 2019, Twitter user Amelia Wedermeyer even created a viral thread of Ben Affleck as different Dunkin’ beverages.
Affleck, who in 2019 told Collider that he has Dunkin’ every day, seems to have gotten J. Lo on board with his obsession (though she once famously said she avoids coffee and caffeine for skincare reasons). We assume, then, that she’s in it for the donuts and given Dunkin’s previous foray into beauty products with its E.L.F. Cosmetics collab, maybe J. Lo has bigger plans to further integrate the brand into the Affleck-Lopez household?
All in all, it’s been a big week for donut news as Krispy Kreme announced its new series of donuts inspired by Biscoff cookies. However exciting that sounds, it’s doubtful you’ll find a celebrity tending the glazing line at your local Krispy Kreme.
So when it comes to brand loyalty, no one is more committed than Affleck. To put a spin on the donut chain’s famous tagline, “Ben runs on Dunkin’.”
