Beautiful and Multi-Purpose: Terra Cotta Mixing Bowls

We love kitchen tools that are multi-purpose, and if they are also beautiful, well then, so much the better. These terra cotta mixing bowls have all of these desirable characteristics, and more besides.

These high-fired terra cotta bowls are from one of our favorite online shops, Bram Cookware in Sonoma, California. They sell all sorts of casseroles, tians, cazuelas, and other clay pots for baking in the oven and cooking on the stove. These bowls are a wonderful part of their line — they are a matched set that are beautiful enough for serving a salad or vegetables. But they are also functional mixing bowls; we love that pouring lip.

Their usefulness doesn't end there, though — these are also oven-safe, so you can bake casseroles and gratins in them. In fact, they are in the classic shape of a French tian — a bowl-like casserole dish.

When you are in a small kitchen, and your tools need to do double-duty, then bowls like these are a great investment. Functional and useful, but also beautiful in a warm, rustic way. Two thumbs up from us.
