Back-to-School Food: In Praise of PB&J

Back-to-School Food: In Praise of PB&J

Lunch boxes across the country headed out the door this morning, many with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in them. Have you eaten one lately? We have...

We've been using our homemade Peach, Plum, and Ginger Jam to make open-faced sandwiches for breakfast and lunch — and they've jogged our memory for how good this simple combination can be.

About the photo above, Flickr member devlyn writes that it is entirely homemade: bread, nut butter, and preserves from scratch.

We also frequently add bananas to our pb&j. How do you make yours? Peanut butter on both sides of the bread to keep the jelly from seeping through? Crunchy or creamy?
