The Force (and Booze) Is Strong with This Baby Yoda Cocktail
We’ve already covered the ways to eat Baby Yoda — in pie or cookie form — and we’ve told you what it was like to have a Baby Yoda Frappuccino, but the latest Baby Yoda drink might be the best one yet. “The Child” from the new The Mandalorian series on Disney+ turns out to be just iconic enough and fairly simple to recreate in edible or sippable form. Which is why a bartender at Laka Lona Rum Club in Omaha, Nebraska decided it was time for a Baby Yoda cocktail.
Titled the BB Yoda, the green-hued drink comes in a margarita glass, with two lime wedges sticking out as ears. The stem is wrapped in a napkin tied with twine, which has the effect of looking like Baby Yoda’s coat. Then there are two cherries (held in place by bamboo toothpicks hidden in the drink that connect them to the lime wedges) staring out as eyes. The drink itself has the Chinese liquor baiju (which the poster describes as bamboo vodka), Midori, pineapple juice, lime juice, and coconut cream. Which sounds pretty good, along with looking adorable. “Come sample this and feel your midi-chlorian counts rise,” jokes the bar’s Instagram account.
This isn’t the first Baby Yoda-inspired cocktail we’ve seen around the internet. There have been other interpretations (like this adorable-looking drink which credits Laka Lona Rum Club for the inspiration and this one too). And we wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes a popular thing to serve at even more bars in the coming months. I’m curious how other bars would recreate this drink if they didn’t have these specific ingredients. What other green cocktails with cherries and lime are there — a Last Word, perhaps?
Some might say this Baby Yoda trend has gone too far. But those people would be wrong. Until Disney starts selling plush Baby Yoda pillows, t-shirts, and other essential merchandise, we’ll be here waiting for the next delightfully weird food and drink creations.
