Ayesha Curry is a mom and a home cook, but let’s face it — with her own TV show and a famous husband, she probably doesn’t have to watch her pennies. Luckily, when it came to introducing a cookware line, she definitely had the rest of us in mind. She partnered with one of the best companies in the business and made sure everything with her name on it was super affordable. All of the pots and pans in her collection are ones you really need for everyday cooking, and they come in an assortment of materials — so whether you love the convenience of nonstick surfaces or would rather avoid them, there’s plenty to choose from.

I tested a bunch of pieces in her line and these are the pieces — the workhorses — that really stood out to me.

1. Ayesha Home Collection 12-Inch Nonstick Deep Skillet with Lid and Helper Handle

Yes, you can use this skillet for frying up bacon or making burgers. But because it has a 3-quart capacity, it’s deep enough for simmering pork chops in gravy or meatballs in sauce, or sautéing a whole mess of veggies. I used it to make Ayesha’s Game Day Beer Chili and loved the way it browned up the bits of beef and sausages, sweated the onions and peppers, and simmered the chili evenly.

It has a silver-colored nonstick finish inside, so it gives the benefit of a nonstick finish but makes it easy to see how much your food has colored and deglaze all the delicious bits that stick to the pan. The bottom surface has a diamond pattern, which may keep the nonstick surface working longer but does mean when you’re cleaning up that you’ll have to work a little harder to get into the little grooves. In spite of its large size, this pan is not excessively heavy and it has a nice helper handle to give you leverage when you’re carrying it fully loaded. (The stainless steel handle does get hot so you’ll need to use a pot holder to maneuver it.) It makes total sense that Ayesha would offer this pan in a bevy of pretty colors — sienna red, basil green, brown sugar (with a coppery interior), or twilight teal — for the porcelain enamel exterior.

2. Ayesha Home Collection 9.75-Inch Chef Pan

I have to admit, this pan is just so darn cute that I loved it right from the start! But it’s also incredibly useful. It’s what you’ll want to pull out when it’s time to warm up leftovers, boil eggs, or toss a stir-fry. Although it’s just under 10 inches wide, it’s deep enough to use for a small batch soup or stew. There are pour spouts on either side that make it easy to serve, say, bisque or gravy. Like the pan above, it has a diamond-textured surface on the nonstick cooking surface. Choose your chef pan in red, teal, brown sugar, or gray.

3. Ayesha Home Collection 6-Quart Covered Dutch Oven

Ayesha probably knows that we all lust for a colorful enameled cast iron Dutch oven that we can cook and proudly serve in, and that we hate the giant price tags that often come with them. She’s come to your rescue with a Dutch oven that is every bit as pretty as the French version — at a mere fraction of the cost. When I used it to prepare sweet and sour short ribs, I was impressed with how evenly the ribs browned without burning in spots, and how steadily they simmered in the sauce, so I didn’t have to continuously fiddle with the heat setting. Bonus: The lid knob, which is shaped like Ayesha’s signature heart, is comfortable to grasp. Just one note: This pot is a bruiser, weighing in at more than 15 pounds with its lid (when it’s empty). It comes in French vanilla, brown sugar, sienna red, and twilight teal.
