About Me

I started cooking at a young age in my grandmother’s kitchen in rural Jamaica. She taught me everything I know about the roots of Jamaican food and cooking. I later learned many skills from watching copious hours of Food Network shows, finding inspiration from Ina Garten and Emeril Lagasse to keep cooking. I started cooking professionally right after college for friends and family and later opened my own catering business. These days I run a food blog encouraging my instagram followers/family to find all the joys of cooking by just starting. I provide simple recipes and steps on the blog along with video tutorials and guides. I love celebrating Jamaica’s rich culture and bold flavors in my cooking. Though I share many authentic recipes, fusion recipes are fast becoming popular on the blog as well. I truly believe anybody can learn to cook and it's my audacious goal to help newcomers feel empowered and shine in the kitchen.
