(If you haven’t seen the video about the harm that plastic straws can cause to sea turtles yet, watch it, and I swear you will vow to never use one again. Also, look that up at your own risk.) But something’s fishy about the ubiquitous coffee chain’s proposed alternative: bulkier, plastic sippy lids.

I’ve dangled over balconies to capture the perfect #drinksintheair pic at sunset, scouted out elaborate street art as a backdrop for a rapidly melting ice cream cone, asked strangers if they’d switch seats with me in a restaurant for better natural lighting, and I once ate a buffalo wing coated in 24-karat edible gold dust.
