This Bloody Mary Salsa from Trader Joe’s Was Worth the 5-Month Wait
There's no vodka in it, but we liked it anyway!

I Tried Aldi’s Most Thanksgiving-y New Grocery Item — Here’s What I Thought
During my most recent Aldi visit, I was browsing through the selection of cheeses and cured meats to see what I could find to serve as an appetizer for Thanksgiving. Somehow, I actually stumbled upon something even better. Sitting next to all the traditional packages of refrigerated ravioli, I found a package of Priano Turkey Cranberry Ravioli ($2.99) — also known as “Thanksgiving in a bite.” Intrigued, I took a closer look and learned more.

The Single Best Thing You’re Overlooking at Whole Foods
We recently had an out-of-town guest who doesn’t live near a Whole Foods. She noticed right away that we had one and became uncontrollably excited because, she said, it meant she could bring home some of that grind-your-own nut butter. “It’s one of the best products they offer,” she added. She wouldn’t stop raving about it, which was surprising to me because I’ve really never given the station a second thought.

I Tried Trader Joe’s Brilliant New Frozen Party Appetizer – Here’s What I Thought
This is the best time of year to shop at Trader Joe’s because the grocery chain has all sorts of fun stocking stuffers, holiday dinner-worthy sides, and surprising new party appetizers. The latter of which just may be my top reason for popping into the store on a semi-weekly basis these days. Just the other day I saw what may be Trader Joe’s best invention yet: French onion soup bites.

The One Thing That Aldi Stores Sell Out of On Friday Nights Won’t Surprise You
For all that people talk about the chocolate, cheese, and wine at Aldi, they really should also add the take-and-bake pizza to the conversation. A lot of people are already wise to them: A company rep once told us that certain stores sell out of pizzas pretty early on Friday nights. But, for the most part, it seems like people don’t rave about these things nearly as much as they should. So that’s what I’m going to do right now!

The Single Best Thing You’re Overlooking at Wegmans
After working in the prepared food section at Wegmans for nine years throughout high school and college, I still remain a loyal customer. And while there are countless stories online singing the praises of certain sections at Wegmans (like the bakery and the cheese department), there’s one thing that’s overlooked in most of these roundups: the soups! Especially during these colder months, Wegmans’ soup section is a godsend.

If You’ve Always Skipped Whole Foods’ Bulk Pasta, Try Again
You may have heard me rave about the freshly ground nut butters at Whole Foods? I called them the single best thing that most people overlook at the grocery chain. While I still stand by that claim 100 percent, there is a close second that I’d like to nominate. I’m talking about the fresh and dried pasta, which you scoop yourself and pay for by the pound. That’s right: There are two types of scoop-yourself pasta at Whole Foods. There are several bins of dried stuff (for $4.

The Surprising Aldi Freezer-Aisle Find You Need to Try
If you’re new to Aldi, like I was, it only takes one visit for you to become a customer for life. On my first visit, I couldn’t believe how many groceries I got for just $25! Besides the low prices, I’m constantly impressed by Aldi’s produce and snacks. The store also has a great selection of cheeses (like aged cheddar and cranberry goat cheese), stuffed olives, and flavorful spreads to help you make inexpensive appetizer platters for parties.

The Sushi Bazooka Is Everything You Never Knew You Wanted in the Kitchen
About a year ago, five of my friends and I decided that we needed to join forces as food-lovers and create a supper club to stay on top of the growing restaurant scene in Buffalo. Since the creation of our group, we’ve visited almost 20 local restaurants, trying nearly everything on each menu.
