Alicia Kort
Deputy Commerce Editor at AT Media
About Me
I graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor in Journalism and an emphasis in magazine editing. I moved to New York City six months after college in hopes of getting a job in media. For the past 10 years, I've worked in both print and digital media as a writer, editor, and fact-checker, covering mostly entertainment before pivoting into shopping.
My work has appeared in Newsweek, Interview, Paste, Electric Literature, Brooklyn Magazine, SheKnows, and StyleCaster. I've interviewed celebrities, including Drew Barrymore, Courteney Cox, and Paul Feig. I also served as the associate nonfiction editor for Carve magazine and as a judge for NYC Midnight, a short story competition.
In my current role, I hope to help make online shopping easier, because it can be intimidating, and test products that solve our readers' problems. I would never recommend a product to a reader that I wouldn't recommend to a friend.
