For fans of the Amazon series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, the quick, witty dialogue and striking retro sets are the main draw, but the classic New York and Jewish food fall right behind. In the first season, Midge, played by Rachel Brosnahan, brings her brisket to bars to bribe her husband’s way onto stage and jokes at her own Jewish wedding about there being shrimp in the egg rolls. In fact, we theorized that the entire show is secretly about the power of cooking.

On The Great British Bake Off, the white tent where the contestants create their marvelous mouth-watering bakes is a place of comfort and joy, even when the pressure is on. Yes, The Great British Bake Off is technically a competition, but the white tent also represents the bond between the bakers and their love of baking.

Just like this past April, the CDC is once again warning consumers to stay away from romaine lettuce due to an E.coli outbreak. “Consumers who have any type of romaine lettuce in their home should not eat it and should throw it away, even if some of it was eaten and no one has gotten sick,” the CDC explains in their announcement on Tuesday. This warning is in effect for all romaine lettuce all over the country.

Researchers have developed a drug that may have “potentially life-saving properties” for children who suffer from peanut allergies. The drug won’t cure peanut allergies in children, but rather decrease the chances that accidentally ingesting peanuts will lead to a life-threatening allergic reaction, according to a report from The New York Times.

Keurig, the national machine for office buildings who can’t be bothered to buy filters in a timely fashion, has decided to diversify into the cocktail robotics market with the Drinkworks Home Bar. The machine includes a carbonation canister and has pods for cocktails like margaritas, Cosmopolitans, and a few other classic drinks (15 in total). Earlier this week, Hasbro released “Monopoly for Millennials,” a variation of your weird aunt’s favorite board game that replaces the familiar properties, utilities, and railroads with experiences like eating at a vegan bistro and attending a meditation retreat. The tagline for this game that exactly none of us want to ever play? “Forget real estate, you can’t afford it anyway!” Get it?

Nailed It! changed the game in the baking-competition genre when it premiered earlier this year, with its comedian host Nicole Byer and focus on amateur bakers who tend to have more flops than triumphs in the kitchen. Now, the series is back with an all-new holiday-themed season. In a new clip teasing the season, Byer and her co-host, master pastry maker Jacques Torres wax poetic about how joyful the holiday season can be — mostly because of the food. Christmas cookies!
