The kitchen junk drawer gets a bad rap. But that’s because we’re calling it by the wrong name — and filling it with the wrong kind of stuff! What you’ll want to transform it into this time of year: The Holiday Command Center. “I love a command center for all sorts of things, but for the holidays this is a must,” says Liz Jenkins, a certified professional organizer and the owner of A Fresh Space.

Why Your Second Cup of Coffee Is Never as Good as Your First
Tell me if this scenario sounds familiar: Every morning when I wake up, I brew a giant pot of French roast, and pour myself a cup. After adding sugar and cream, I take that first sip, and every morning it’s like the first time I’ve ever had such a drink in my life. It’s absolute perfection. It’s like vanilla, sugar, cream, and coffee beans were made to be tasted by me this morning and me alone. But then, each subsequent sip is a little less satisfying.

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” Is Back and Tastier than Ever
For fans of the Amazon series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, the quick, witty dialogue and striking retro sets are the main draw, but the classic New York and Jewish food fall right behind. In the first season, Midge, played by Rachel Brosnahan, brings her brisket to bars to bribe her husband’s way onto stage and jokes at her own Jewish wedding about there being shrimp in the egg rolls. In fact, we theorized that the entire show is secretly about the power of cooking.

Here’s What You Need to Know About the “Dirty Snowman” Drink
As a kid, you probably drank hot cocoa by the gallon. It always seemed like the right time for a cup of hot cocoa, and yet in adulthood I would bet that you don’t drink it too much anymore. What hot cocoa really needs is a grown-up upgrade. Enter: the Dirty Snowman cocktail. It’s basically childhood nostalgia with a boozy twist.

Did the Grinch Make These Creepy Santa Eggs?
Look, I understand that the holidays aren’t always full of cheer. There can be a lot of pressure to deliver the perfect holiday party fare, instead of the same old boring wine and cheese spread you find yourself snacking on every year. You want to impress your judgmental relatives so that they’re all talking about the ingenious appetizers you served before Christmas dinner for years to come.

I Tried Starbucks’ Juniper Latte and It Really Surprised Me
In the realm of drink flavors, Starbucks isn’t known for its subtlety. Think back to the green and purple Witch’s Brew Frappuccino the company unleashed for Halloween to get an idea of what I mean. Even the Peppermint Mocha, my favorite among the Starbucks’ holiday drink lineup, is a bit heavy-handed on the peppermint syrup. So when Starbucks announced that the juniper latte would be available nationwide this year, I had my reservations.

Ham Company Finds Out the Most Popular Thanksgiving Leftover Is Definitely Not Ham
