I think it’s pretty clear that we’re obsessed with cauliflower here at Kitchn. We’ve turned it into rice, mashed “potatoes,” pizza crust, soup, mac and cheese, tacos, lettuce wraps, and more, but our favorite way to eat it might just be in bite-sized form. Here are 10 ways to spice up everyone’s favorite floret-filled veggie. These bites from Kirbie’s Cravings are coated in a honey-garlic sauce, which gets a hint of spice from Sriracha.

We’re So Inspired by These #StandforKids Lemonade Stands
It is difficult enough for adults to process the Trump administration’s recent actions of separating families at the U.S.-Mexico border, let alone put them into words that make sense to children. But last weekend a powerful movement emerged in support of reuniting the families separated at the border, centered around a summertime staple that even children can understand: the lemonade stand.

This Is the Most Popular Snack at Trader Joe’s
Choosing a favorite product at Trader Joe’s feels nearly impossible. There are so many great things that are wonderful in their own unique ways. How could I possibly choose between the freeze-dried fruit that stops my toddler from being cranky and the lavender dryer sachets that make my sheets smell like I live at Buckingham Palace?

Why You Should Keep an Egg Cup on Your Bathroom Counter
If you aren’t already hip to the organizing potential of an egg cup — you know, those fancy little vessels designed to hold a single egg — now’s the time to smarten up. Believe it or not, those little egg-serving cuties actually offer up some serious storage opportunity, especially for your bathroom counter. Best of all: They’re easy to score for cheap at thrift stores, or maybe just borrow from your grandma’s personal collection.

6 Tips for Buying Produce at Costco, Sam’s, and BJ’s
Warehouse stores offer great value on many products, like produce, household goods, and seasonal supplies. And while most of the items in the store can sit on your shelves pretty much indefinitely, the fresh produce is a little more fickle. Most produce goes bad within a few days, or at best, up to a few weeks, depending on what it is and how it’s stored. So sadly, fruits and veggies bought in bulk can go bad before you have a chance to use them.

3 Kitchen Problems Only People Without Central Air Will Understand
When you don’t have central (or any kind of) air conditioning in your kitchen, you quickly realize a few things. I knew living in a (very!) old house would mean not wanting to turn on the oven from roughly June through September, but the last few summers had a few other surprises in store for me, as well. Here are the three biggest problems only people without air conditioning in their kitchen will understand. What’s that, dear husband?

Jell-O’s New Edible Building Blocks Will Make You Want to Play with Your Food
Jell-O is already one of the most fun foods. It’s just so jiggly! No matter how old you are, that wiggle is amusing. That’s why we have things like Jell-O shapes, Jell-O shots, and Jell-O wrestling. Now Jell-O has just come out with the coolest new idea: Jell-O molds that let kids make edible blocks they can stack into cars, buildings, and animals, and still eat afterwards. Technically it’s designed for kids, but I am definitely going to need to play with these.

Anthony Bourdain’s Biography Will Be Coming Out Next Year
The world is still grieving the sudden and tragic death of Anthony Bourdain three weeks ago. He was an icon in the food world, and he inspired millions of people to think more about food, travel, and other people. Now it looks like there will be a new book about Anthony Bourdain coming out next year, and it’s described as an “oral biography” full of stories from the people closest to him. Cookbook author Paula Forbes posted the news to Twitter.

This Beauty Trend Will Also Make for Better Grilling
Like most of the internet, I’ve recently fallen in love with the podcast Forever35. Hosts Doree Shafrir and Kate Spencer talk about self-care — everything from facial serums to meal planning — and have a huge Facebook community that exchanges daily updates, questions, and advice about it all. As a fan and fellow self-care lover, I’ve put some of their advice into practice in my own home — but most surprisingly at the grill, too.

3 No-Fail Ways of Getting the Most Bang for Your Buck with Your Produce
One of the best lessons I’ve learned when it comes to saving money on groceries is to simply just waste less food. If you actually eat something, then it’s money well spent! The Best Thing You Get from Sonic Isn’t on the Menu
I like to think I’m an unfussy person when it comes to most things kitchen and cooking — until it comes to ice. I have opinions there. If you give me options, I like it crushed. I know it melts quickly, and it really takes up a ton of space in the glass, but I just love the experience of taking a sip of a drink and having a bunch of itty-bitty glaciers to crunch on.

Cold Brew Basics: The 1-2-3 Plan for Better Caffeination at Home
I’m not one to be hyperbolic about food stuff, but mastering cold brew at home is a game-changer. Making cold brew at home is going to save you so much time (and money) this summer that you might actually find a minute to meditate in the morning — or catch up on email, if that’s more your speed.

The Silliest and Easiest Way to Clean a Dirty Whisk
Whisks can be tough to clean. All those skinny tines are great for emulsifying a vinaigrette or beating eggs whites, but they create lots of hard-to-reach spots to clean later. And especially when you’re cooking with bacteria-prone foods (like eggs!) or clingy, oily ones (like olive oil!), you really want to make sure your whisk gets thoroughly cleaned. I’ve spent a fair amount of time wedging soapy sponges between the tines, trying to clean each one off individually.

An Ingenious Tip for Fresh-Tasting Herbs Year-Round
While I don’t yet have the space in my life for a full-fledged garden, I have happily maintained a small herb garden on my balcony for years. By this time in the summer, it’s overflowing with so much green that I can hardly manage it all, despite constantly clipping sprigs of basil, rosemary, or parsley for whatever I am cooking. So I am always on the hunt for ways to trim down my plants and preserve their goodness for the colder months ahead, when things are much less abundant.

As a cast iron-loving cook, I sometimes get weary of all the rumors about things you should not cook in cast iron pans (spoiler: there is nothing you can’t cook in your cast iron if it is well-seasoned). Cast iron skillets are classic cookware, often passed down through generations because they are nearly indestructible and get better the more you use them.

Drunk Man Leaves One-Star Review for His Parents’ Fridge
OK, let’s be honest: We’ve all probably stepped out of an Uber, fumbled with our front-door locks, and belatedly realized that we shouldn’t have had that last glass of wine. The next morning usually arrives with a headache, a dry mouth, and a solemn promise that you’re one and done at the next after-work happy hour. 12-Year-Old Calls 911 Over Bad Salad. Twice.
What do you do when you get food you don’t like? Do you take a taste and decide to leave it on your plate? Do you force yourself to eat it just to be polite and not wasteful? Insulting the food or throwing a tantrum might seem like the worst possible responses to an unappetizing dish, but it turns out there is something worse you could do. This week a 12-year-old Canadian boy made the news because he actually called 911 twice to report his parents for making a salad he did not like.

Those “Use By” Dates on Food Are Confusing a Lot of People
People throw away billions of dollars worth of perfectly good food every year. Nobody wants to waste food, but it’s an easy thing to do when you’re standing in front of the refrigerator wondering, “How long has this been here? This $4 Salad Kit Might Be Your New Favorite Work Lunch
I work from home, and have for the past few years. When this comes up in polite conversation, people either respond by listing all of the reasons why they couldn’t do it (“Don’t you, like, just want to do laundry all the time?” one woman recently asked me. No. No, I do not.) or by telling me how lucky I am not to be in an office. There are benefits, no doubt.

Your Farmers Market Probably Has Better Deals than You Think
“Bring your checkbook,” my neighbor joked from across the street as he watched my husband and I, reusable bags purposefully slung over our shoulders, leaving for our local farmers market one Sunday morning.
