Where Can I Buy Milk with No Additives?
Q: Is there anywhere in the United States where I can get milk which is just milk? I am originally from the UK and our milk is just milk, whereas here, it’s Vitamin A, palmitate, and Vitamin D3. I can’t taste the difference, but there is a recipe I use from Home Made with milk, and it doesn’t seem to work when using the US milk — that’s what I am blaming! I am curious to know what these added ingredients do, and why they are not added in the UK?

A Pear and a Poem
Today my pear at breakfast was perfect, so very ripe and juicy and sweet-scented. And although a pear is just an ordinary thing, still I felt a little spike of pleasure when I spooned it into my mouth along with some yogurt and honey. There was pleasure, too, that I had this quiet time to notice the pear and the way the morning light was washing into the room where I sat on the floor with my back up against the wall.

5 Brilliant Ways to Store Your Pots & Pans
Stockpots, sauce pans, skillets, and Dutch ovens—they are absolute essentials in the kitchen, but they can be such a pain to store. Even if you buy a complete set from one company in one style, they still don’t fit together for easy storage. With that in mind, these five storage solutions make even those oddly shaped pans easy to store. Under the Island: We’ve seen plenty of pot racks hanging above a kitchen island, but rarely do we see them hanging below the counter.

How To Polish a Stainless Steel Sink with Flour (Yes, Flour!)
A few years ago, I learned a trick that changed my life. No, seriously, it was a complete game-changer in the care of my kitchen sink. 5 Things to Roast a Chicken in Other than a Roasting Pan
While I do own a roasting pan, it usually sits underneath the oven at the bottom of a drawer. Piled on top of it are other baking pans, Silpats, and roasting racks, so to be honest, pulling it out is a pain. Its large size also makes it unwieldy to clean in a small sink, so I only use when it when absolutely necessary, usually for Thanksgiving turkey.

Can You Spot What’s Unusual About This Kitchen Door?
I ran across this image when I was looking for good examples of barn doors in the kitchen and I thought it was so clever! Can you see what’s special about it? It slides away… right beside the refrigerator! Slide it to the left, and you can open the screen door without it swinging into the kitchen. This is a fairly small galley kitchen, and a screen door that opened inwards would block the fridge or workspace.

Boiardi was the the name of a chef who worked in the Plaza Hotel and was in charge of the kitchen by age 17. Chef Boyardee carries on his (phonetically, anyway) on every can of cheese ravioli.
