Should I Buy a KitchenAid or a Kenwood Stand Mixer?
Q: I am shopping for my first stand mixer and have two options: a Kenwood robot and a KitchenAid stand mixer. Price is not a problem since they cost more or less the same, with the Kenwood series having a wide range of prices. Which one would The Kitchn readers choose? The big difference I found between the models I chose are that the Kenwood includes a 6.7 litre bowl, while the KitchenAid machine has a 4.83 litre bowl.

Day 2: Ask yourself 3 questions about your breakfast habits As I shared yesterday, my daily toast and peanut butter breakfast routine is ready for a revamp. I’m craving more variety, more protein, more fruit! I like having a breakfast routine during the week, though, so any changes have to be easy to implement. What’s the Best Way to Make Quiche for an Office Party?
Q: We’re starting up a breakfast club at work for sign-up members only. About 16 people will participating. I have a wonderful quiche recipe that everyone loves. I’m wondering if I could make the quiche in two 8″ x 8″ glass baking dishes that could each be reheated separately in the microwave? (A larger dish wouldn’t fit.) I also always use a store-bought frozen crust that comes in an aluminum foil plate and it can’t be reheated in a microwave.

10 Kitchens With Cast Iron Pans on Display
My three cast iron skillets are my most-used kitchen items. One of the skillets used to belong to my grandmother, which means the interior is super smooth (great for eggs). Because I use them so often, I keep my pans right on my stovetop, but that’s certainly the least exciting way to store them, as evidenced by the setups in these 10 kitchens: Cast iron pans actually look quite striking when displayed in the open, whether packed in clusters on a pot rack or hung side by side on the wall.

Hate Mushy Oatmeal? Try This Easy Tip for Perfect Texture Every Time
Making morning oatmeal often feels like a tradeoff between texture and time. Rolled oats cook up in a couple minutes, but can quickly turn gluey and mushy. And while steel-cut oats are chewier and more satisfying, their 20- to 30-minute cooking time isn’t always convenient in the morning. Here’s a quick tip for making a bowl of oatmeal with a texture that’s just right, in about 10 minutes. It’s simple — just cook a mixture of half rolled oats, half steel-cut oats.

Rabbit Spoons and Subtle Signs of Spring (Plus Some Exciting News!)
My landlady stopped by this morning to retrieve her mail, which I had been dutifully saving from our drenching late winter rains while she was away in Mexico. In return, she presented me with a gift of a little Oaxacan spoon topped with a carved pink rabbit. The cheerful pink bunny and the arrival of March are just a few of the many reminders that spring, and all the changes it will bring, is not that far off. (Honest. I swear.
