This apple martini is refreshingly crisp with the perfect balance of apple flavor — not too sweet, not too sour. Apple martinis, also known as “appletinis,” are very simple to shake up at home and only require a handful of easy-to-find ingredients.
What Is in an Apple Martini?
An apple martini is a type of martini cocktail made with vodka, apple liqueur or schnapps, lemon juice, and apple juice.
To take this martini to the next level, serve it in a chilled martini glass. To do that, put an empty martini glass in the freezer for 30 minutes before pouring your cocktail. It will be nice and frosty.
What Is an Apple Martini Made Of?
There are many different variations of apple martinis but they generally consist of the following:
- Apple liqueur, schnapps, or brandy
- Vodka
- Lemon juice
- Apple juice
- Apple slices (for garnish)
I used DeKyper Sour Apple Pucker Liqueur from my local liquor store to achieve the sour profile and green color. You can also use apple schnapps or apple brandy instead of liqueur.
What Makes a Martini a Martini?
What qualifies a classic martini is a mix of gin and vermouth. On the flip side, sweet martinis replace gin with vodka and often contain fruit liqueurs instead of vermouth, just like this apple martini.
What Does an Apple Martini Taste Like?
An apple martini tastes a little sweet and a little tart with a vodka-forward profile and apple flavor.

Recipe Notes
Vodka: Make sure to use a top shelf or smooth vodka since martinis are vodka-forward. I used Grey Goose for this recipe.
Apple liqueur: If the apple liqueur, schnapps, or brandy you choose is unsweetened, you may want to add 1/2 ounce of simple syrup or more apple juice to the cocktail.
