You’ve probably already seen the clip of Anne Hathaway recognizing “Since U Been Gone” before Kelly Clarkson when she was on The Kelly Clarkson Show, but that wasn’t the only surprise during Hathaway’s recent guest appearance on the show.

In another segment, Hathaway shared a cupcake eating hack that made Clarkson’s jaw drop. “I didn’t realize that this was that unusual until I was at my friend Steph’s 40th birthday and it got Omicron-ed,” Hathaway said. “We couldn’t have a cake, so we did cupcakes … I did this thing and it stopped the party.”

She then demonstrated using a rainbow cupcake while Clarkson followed along with her red velvet cupcake. Hathaway removed the top half of the cupcake (frosting and cake) with her hand and flipped it so that the frosting was in the middle. “And then you have a sandwich and you don’t get frosting up your nose,” Hathaway said.

Clarkson and the audience gasped in awe of Hathaway’s ingenuity, and Clarkson likened it to a whoopie pie. “It’s nicer too because then you get the sandwich effect,” Clarkson said. Hathaway added that eating a cupcake this way makes it feel more casual. “I just want to make all desserts feel casual so we can eat more of them,” Hathaway said.

And we completely agree — bring on the desserts.
