We can just imagine spending weekend mornings enjoying a leisurely breakfast in Wendy and Gavin’s window seat breakfast nook. We’re guessing those expansive mornings don’t happen that often — not with two boys and two dogs anyway. But for the times when they do, this expansive seating area is ready and waiting.

Technically just off the kitchen, the breakfast nook serves as the main dining table for the family. The layered cushions and striped wood table make the white wood and wainscoting feel less traditional and more well-traveled.

And, of course, the mix of vintage and natural serving pieces helps continue the eclectic theme.

The kitchen itself is crisp and white. We love the way the wainscoting has been added to the refrigerator to keep with the look of the house.
