An Art-Filled Kitchen in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn
When we started paging through Malene’s Bed-Stuy house tour, we had an inkling we would find a spectacular kitchen filled with artwork. We weren’t disappointed.
The spacious kitchen, which in itself is a miracle in New York, is anchored by a large island counter with an inset and a bookshelf on one side. But what we really love is the way Malene has incorporated her art collection into her kitchen.
Flanking the stove, Malene has both a beautiful sculpture and vintage-inspired letters of her initials. On the open shelving above, more small works — decorative plates, figurines, vases, etc. — are mixed in with her dishware.
And yet, even with all the small accent pieces, Malene’s space manages to never feel cluttered.
