Summer is finally happening! This change of season means you’re going to be able to fire up that grill more and more. Whether you’re hosting big backyard barbecue bashes (the 4th of July is just two weeks away!) or just grilling a quick weeknight dinner for your family, it’s always fun to play around with grilling accessories and accoutrements.

With that in mind, we’d like to suggest this Himalayan salt platter — now on sale on Amazon for just under $27.

Harvested from ancient salt mines in the far reaches of the Himalayas, the gorgeous pink salt block has been used by savvy cooks for eons. Not only will it look cool on your grill and impress your friends, but cooking on one also adds a mild, salty flavor to whatever you’re grilling, without being too overpowering.

Buy it!

This salt block, currently one of Amazon’s best sellers, nests into a porcelain-coated steel plate, which has nice, big handles for easy maneuvering. (Or you can buy the plate by itself for under $19.) You can use it to cook up a variety of proteins including shrimp, scallops, steak, and more. Plus, it’s great for asparagus, mushrooms, and other veggies.

Even when you’re not firing up the grill, you can use it to serve up cheeses, fruits, or even lox and bagel toppings. And in the winter, you can use the salt on top of your gas stove.

When you’re done cooking, simply give the salt plate a light scrubbing with a soft brush and a little bit of water (do not submerge the plate in water). Dry with a paper towel and store it in a cool, dry place until you’re ready to use it again.
