There’s so much to love about summer. The extra hours of daylight! The warm temps! The ice cream! The official Amazon holiday! We especially love this last one and, after waiting all year, we finally have some special details about the fourth annual Amazon Prime Day.

When Is Amazon Prime Day 2018?

Amazon Prime Day will start on July 16 at 12 p.m. PT and will run all day July 17.

* Amazon is technically calling it Prime Day (and a half).

While Amazon Prime Day officially starts on July 16 (more on that later), the lead-up period actually starts today.

Here’s what you need to know about Prime Day and all the days around it.

1. You have to be a Prime member.

If you don’t already have a Prime membership (and you really should, if for nothing else, to be able to watch The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel!), you need to sign up in order to take advantage of the deals. You can sign up for a monthly membership for $12.99 or an annual $119 membership, which saves you money in the long run.

2. Some deals start today.

Starting today, you can get up to 20 percent off select items from AmazonBasics (a line of no-frills everyday essentials) and up to 25 percent off Amazon’s super-cute furniture lines, Rivet and Stone & Beam.

You can also save $100 on Echo Show, which is Alexa-enabled and has a screen to play movies, shows, and even cooking techniques. Been washing dishes in the silence? Prime members who haven’t yet tried Amazon Music Unlimited can get four months of the premium for just $0.99.

There are a few more deals that start today, so check Amazon for more details.

3. You can celebrate Prime Day at Whole Foods Market.

For the first time, Prime members will also be able to get Prime Day deals at Whole Foods. On Prime Day, you can take an additional 10 percent off hundreds of sale items, and get deep discounts on select popular products.

And, from July 14 through 17, Amazon Prime Rewards Visa cardmembers with an eligible Prime membership will enjoy double the rewards — 10 percent back — when shopping at Whole Foods Market on up to a total of $400 in purchases.

4. You can shop small businesses on Prime Day.

It’s not all about big brands! One of our favorite sections, Handmade Artisans, will have Prime Day deals. We’re not sure which sellers will partake and what the deals will be, but check back for updates as we learn more.

5. We don’t know exactly what will be on sale during Prime Day, but we have some ideas.

We hear kitchen gadgets, groceries, everyday essentials, and more will be on markdown. We are also guessing, based on past Prime Days, that the Instant Pot will be on sale. Again, we don’t know the specifics just yet, but check back with us for all sorts of updates!

6. It’ll be extra easy to shop.

If you already have an Alexa-enabled device, you can ask her to tell your deals. There’s a whole feature to help you preview, track, and shop limited-time Lightning Deals. And you can get a Prime Day sneak peek using the Amazon App from July 9 to 15 (just tap the Prime Day banner).
