The Section of Amazon You’re Not Shopping but Should Be
If you like craft fairs and sweet homemade pieces — like bespoke pottery, screen-printed tea towels, and hand-cast cement coasters — then you need to shop on Amazon more. Not really the place you’d think of when it comes to handmade goods, right? You probably hit up Amazon for cases of La Croix, trash bags, cookbooks, small appliances, and other kitchen items and then head to Etsy for the cutesy stuff?
What you might not have realized is that Amazon has a very Etsy-like shop called Amazon Handmade. In fact, a lot of Etsy makers are also on Amazon Handmade, where you can sometimes get free Prime shipping — and there’s a whole section dedicated to artisans who make wares for the kitchen and dining room.

Funny Tea Towel, $12: This maker has all sorts of tea towels with funny sayings (“oh kale no” and “turnip the beet”), but we’re partial to this one. Get it? Because tacos tend to fall apart when you eat them? And it’s a lyric from “Total Eclipse of the Heart”? We’ll explain later.
Meal Planning Notepad, $12.95: Sure, you could use any piece of paper to write out your meal plan. But if you don’t, a cute dedicated pad like this one might inspire you to actually do it.
S’mores Campfire Play Food, $15.50: How cute is this little felt s’mores kit? Buy it for your nephew and, if you’re feeling extra generous, spoil him with the fake campfire set for $71, too.
Cloth Dinner Napkins, $36 for four: We bought a sloth tea towel from this shop as a parting gift for our beloved former Managing Editor, Geraldine Campbell, and were totally impressed by the quality. These dinner napkins would look great on a rustic table.
Gold-Rimmed Dessert Plates, $107: Before you balk at the price, we should point out that these are rimmed with 14-karat gold and they’re made by hand. And they can go in the dishwasher!
Industrial Kitchen Shelf, $75: Short on storage space in your kitchen? Use whatever wall space you have. This industrial-style shelf can hold a few pantry staples and a couple of pots and pans.
Geometric Teardrop Mini Planter, $14: Because every kitchen looks a little better once a plant or three are dropped into the space.
Forest Compass Rocks Glasses, $26 for two: In case you ever lose your way, these glasses, which are hand-printed in Denver, can point you in the right direction.
